The Washington Football Team signed veteran quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick earlier in the offseason. Thus, they won’t be forced to do anything from this point onward.

The Washington Football Team could theoretically trade up in Round 1 to select a quarterback. They could add a signal caller in the middle or late rounds. Or they could bypass the position entirely and wait until next year.

The best addition Washington made at QB this offseason is flexibility. With Fitzpatrick, Taylor Heinicke, and Kyle Allen, they kept themselves from being backed into a corner. Now, they can survey their options as the circumstances fluctuate, without feeling the urge to force decisions with a brash lack of forethought.

As such, all situations should be monitored, and this includes the situation of disillusioned New York Jets quarterback Sam Darnold.
