The Riggo’s Rag Roundtable has convened to talk about options for the Washington Football Team’s first-round pick in 2021.

If there were any doubts remaining about the Washington Football Team’s plans at the quarterback position, they likely came to an end on Friday.

When the San Francisco 49ers moved up to the No. 3 overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft, that virtually ended any chance of Washington selecting a quarterback with their first-round pick. It was always unlikely that they would land one with the 19th pick anyway, but now, with passers on the rise, it’s highly unlikely that even Mac Jones would be on the board for them.

Unless Ron Rivera, Martin Mayhew, and Marty Hurney love a prospect and want to trade up to get a passer, they will probably go in another direction with the 19th pick. So, that begs the question, what will their options be?

In short, Washington will have many. They still have some holes on defense at linebacker and safety, and you can never have too many talented corners on defense. Meanwhile, on the offensive side of the ball, continuing to add weapons to their receiving corps would behoove them as would adding depth and future starters to their offensive line.

The team could also look to bolster a position of strength if a blue-chip prospect somehow slipped to them, but either way, Washington looks well-positioned to land an impactful player that could be a long-term starter for the team.

So, what should they do with the No. 19 pick? Our Riggo’s Rag writers weighed in on the topic and have seven different directions the team could go in Round 1.
