Round 7

The situation remains the same for the Washington Football Team in Round 7. Washington has two picks at No. 244 and No. 246. Since these picks are almost back-to-back, I’ll give one board of available players, and you’ll be tasked with choosing two of them. Then, we’ll close out the mock and look back at our selections.

There are a lot of intriguing options here. Two names quickly stood out to me, however. One was Illinois State safety Christian Uphoff. Uphoff showed some promise at the Senior Bowl, and at 6-foot-3, 213, he has the size and short-range explosiveness to potentially translate into a hybrid WILL linebacker-box safety role. If not, he looks like a very good special teams candidate.

My second pick, meanwhile, is Iowa State RB Kene Nwangwu. Behind standout sophomore Breece Hall, Nwangwu was more of a rotational back for the Cyclones. But he was fairly efficient in that role, and he offers excellent athletic upside. At 6-foot-1, 210 pounds, Nwangwu logged a 4.31 40-yard dash, a 37-inch vertical, a 125-inch broad jump, and a 6.84 three-cone time at his pro day.
