Free Agency – Roster Additions

Free Agents Obtained

  • Ryan Fitzpatrick, QB – Signed, 3/18/21
  • Curtis Samuel, WR – Signed, 3/18/21
  • Tyler Larsen, OC – Signed, 3/18/21
  • David Mayo, LB – Signed, 3/18/21
  • William Jackson, CB – Signed, 3/19/21

Possible Free Agent Targets

  • Eric Wilson, LB – A good linebacker who is very affordable.
  • De’Vondre Campbell, LB – Campbell is underrated and would be a solid addition to the Washington Football Team.
  • Alejandro Villaneuva, OT – He’s older, but Villaneuva has four or five good years remaining in him.
  • Malik Hooker, FS – Hooker would be a candidate for a one-year “prove it” contract.  Injuries have sidetracked what should’ve been a great career thus far.
  • Avery Williamson, LB – Williamson struggled somewhat in 2020, but he probably has two or three good years remaining.
  • K.J. Wright, LB – K.J.Wright is on the wrong side of 30, but he would be a solid one-year addition to the roster.

As free agency continues following the first wave of huge signings, a secondary market often provides some intriguing opportunities.  Washington could sign any of these players or other “low hanging fruit” between now and the beginning of training camp.

Trades

No trades are anticipated at this time, but that could change if a needy team offers the Washington Football Team a good package of picks and/or players.  Too, the front office could look to make a trade later in the offseason – whether it be due to injury or a perceived roster need.

Possible Trades

  • Orlando Brown, OT, Ravens – Brown is a right tackle, but he claims to be more of a left tackle.  Brown is probably too expensive – in draft capital and contract.
