Round 5 – Georgia TE Tre’ McKitty

The Washington Football Team was unable to dip into the tight end market when it was most bountiful. Popular fan targets like Jonnu Smith, Hunter Henry, and Gerald Everett all signed with other teams.

While it was smart for Washington to avoid over-paying when they already had a TE1 in Logan Thomas, they still need a competent receiving threat opposite Thomas. The draft might offer a chance for them to add that target. On Day 3, there are numerous options to consider, but Georgia TE Tre’ McKitty makes sense here.

McKitty’s production won’t wow anyone; he was never a featured piece in the offenses he took part in. Nevertheless, McKitty appears to have underrated athleticism for his size, and he also has some run-after-catch ability. McKitty is more of a projection than most players, as he has yet to put his potential on the field. But the traits are certainly there, and with some growth, he could become a solid No. 2 tight end with pre-existing blocking experience.
