Round 3, Pick 2 – Alabama LB Dylan Moses

This is the pick that Washington received from their mock trade with the Tennessee Titans. With this pick, the Washington Football Team brings in some help at their SAM position. With the No. 100 pick, the Washington Football Team selects Dylan Moses, linebacker from Alabama.

Dylan Moses can be a significant upgrade at SAM for the Washington Football Team. Washington struggled with their play against the run, while also not bringing in much from the pass-rushing aspect of the position.

Moses brings you an upgrade in run support, while also bringing you a new dynamic as a pass rusher. Washington also struggled with poor tackling angles and missed tackles as well. Moses isn’t a guy who will add to that weakness. He only missed 13 tackles in 192 career attempts in college.

Moses projects to be a 4-3 SAM linebacker in Washington’s defense. He will be someone who will have minimal coverage responsibility, but can rush the passer and attack ball carriers downhill while filling his gap assignment.

He’s a guy who ranked in the Top 50 in terms of coverage stops, run stops, and forced incompletions. He’s as experienced as they come, playing in 35 games throughout his collegiate career, totaling over 20 tackles for loss and combining for six sacks throughout his career.

At this juncture, his game isn’t polished, but Moses gives this Washington Football Team defensive staff a lot to work with as an athlete.

With true sideline-to-sideline range, explosiveness, and strength, Dylan Moses has a ton of upside. He’ll need more film-room reps, but luckily for him and this staff, he’ll be coached by two former NFL linebackers in Jack Del Rio and head coach Ron Rivera.

If the Washington Football Team can tap into his potential as a tackler, athlete, and pass-rusher, they could have a star in their linebacker room named Dylan Moses.
