4. TE Hunter Henry

Logan Thomas was a revelation for the Washington Football Team last offseason, but they could still use some help at the tight end spot. They don’t have much depth at the position, especially with Jeremy Sprinkle, the team’s top blocker at the position is a free agent. He’s a one-dimensional player though, so grabbing an upgrade makes sense.

Why not target one of the best players available at the position on the open market?

Hunter Henry is one of the better receivers at the tight end position league-wide. He has struggled at times with injuries, but he has only missed six games combined during the last two seasons. And in 2020, he made a career-high 14 starts.

Henry is a good athlete, has great size at 6-foot-5, 250 pounds, and he is a good enough blocker. He’s also still just 26 years old, so he has room to grow.

After logging 60 catches, 613 yards, and four touchdowns last year, Henry seems to be trending up. Pairing him with Thomas in Washington’s tight end corps would give the team a lot of options to attack teams over the middle of the field and create mismatches with their two huge, athletic tight ends.

Henry will need to be compensated as one of the better tight ends in the league, so Washington may not ultimately target him because they already have Thomas on a more-than-reasonable contract. That said, the possibility of creating a two-tight-end tandem of Thomas and Henry should at least intrigue Rivera and Turner enough to consider this move.
