Washington Football Team full first-round NFL mock draft: Two first-round picks
By Ian Cummings
C.J. Henderson flashed early with the Jaguars, before falling off as his rookie season progressed. Nevertheless, Henderson provides good upside on the boundary, and if the Jaguars can unite him with another high-upside cornerback, they could form an exciting duo. That’s where Ifeatu Melifonwu comes into play.
Once viewed as a Day 2 or Day 3 pick, Melifonwu’s stock has skyrocketed this offseason. Currently my CB4, Melifonwu often gets bad press because his brother Obi didn’t quite pan out. But it’s important not to view them on the same wavelength. Ifeatu Melifonwu is an elite athlete just as his brother was, but Ifeatu also brings exciting instincts, length, and physicality in contested situations. He has legitimate shutdown potential, as well as positional versatility.
