Predicting all 32 starting quarterbacks in 2021, including Washington’s QB

Washington: Tua Tagovailoa
Sorry for making you wait, but it’s a bold pick, right? The Washington Football Team considered Tua in the 2020 draft, but they were never going to take anyone other than Chase Young.
Tua was merely OK as a rookie. He made some plays. He looked lost at times. He got benched. Then, in the past few days, stories began breaking about how Alabama receiver, and future NFL star, Jaylen Waddle, prefers Mac Jones to Tua (he played with both). Tua is beginning to seem like damaged goods, and it has nothing to do with his injury history.
That’s my kind of guy. Tua is a solid citizen who will be motivated. And his talent is undeniable. This is not a Josh Rosen situation, where the player was simply overvalued from the beginning. There will be some growing pains wherever Tua winds up, but I think the upside is there with the Washington Football Team.
I have already stated a number of times, that if it were up to me, I would wait and roll with Kyle Allen, Taylor Heinicke, and a low-priced third option, be it rookie or veteran. But I think Washington is going to blink and go after a somewhat bigger name. If they do, I think Tua would be a reasonable choice.
And I’ve also said this before. Having both Tagovailoa brothers in Maryland would be pretty awesome.
There it is. This leaves five 2020 day-one starters on the bench. Philip Rivers has already retired and I assume Drew Brees will. Two others, Tyrod Taylor and Gardner Minshew, will end up somewhere (I think Taylor would be a great fit in Washington, but with Allen and Heinicke on board, that doesn’t look likely).
The fifth – well, that would be Dwayne Haskins. Enough said. Here’s to brighter days ahead.
