Richard Rodgers, Philadelphia Eagles

The Washington Football Team actually had Richard Rodgers on the roster last offseason before he was cut and joined the Eagles. Last season, I had written that decision was one of the free agency mistakes that Ron Rivera and the front office had made.

The team now has the chance to amend the mistake by bringing back Rodgers. Rodgers finished with the second-highest PFF offensive grade and third-highest receiving grade among all tight ends. His PFF grade was in the same sphere as Travis Kelce and Darren Waller.

Now, I am not saying he is anywhere close to that range as a player, but he does provide some low-cost upside that the team can take advantage of. Last season, with Zach Ertz missing time for the Eagles, Rodgers stepped up and caught 24 passes for 345 yards for a nice 14.4 yards per reception average, despite only playing on 24% of the Eagles’ offensive snaps.

Rodgers previously excelled in his limited opportunities with the Packers and could be a good value signing for the Washington Football Team.
