The 2021 quarterback class is a crapshoot outside of the consensus No. 1 prospect, Trevor Lawrence. With Washington picking 19th, who’s the best fit and prospect for this team?

The 2020 NFL season for the Washington Football Team went as good as one can imagine, all things considered.

Despite a coach in Ron Rivera who was diagnosed with cancer before the season began to a situation under center that had no sense of stability throughout the year, the WFT came out on top of the NFC East.

Sustaining that level of success is now the most important goal. Solving the quarterback situation is priority No. 1 going forward.

While Rivera and newly hired front office staff like Marty Hurney and Martin Mathew have echoed that sentiment, the free-agent pool this offseason doesn’t fit the bill. Washington will have to wish a player like Dak Prescott becomes available, or they must trade many assets to successfully bring their QB of the future to the nation’s capital.

Luckily for them, that isn’t the only route. Holding their plethora of 2021 draft picks, including an extra third-round pick, the Washington Football Team could trade up to select their guy if available.

With a team and a city that is hungry for “the guy”, the Washington Football Team is in dire need to find their quarterback. But outside of QB1, Trevor Lawrence, there isn’t a surefire home-run at the position. There are accuracy concerns for some, athletic concerns for others, inexperience, and concerns that certain QBs are products of their system, there are many flaws and outcries for why certain players won’t succeed in the NFL.

Nonetheless, the WFT has a chance to snag their guy in this class, without it proving to be too costly. The young men in this class can prove to be better than some expect, but there’s truly one prospect who stands out among all that proves to be a realistic and beautiful fit in D.C. for years to come.
