Additional Thoughts

Cornerback is not the most pressing need for the Washington Football Team, but that could change if Ronald Darby decides to play for another team in 2021.  It’s likely that he will sign a new contract and the front office could add some depth in free agency and the draft.

Don’t be surprised if Washington signs a restricted free agent cornerback from another team.  If any of these talented cornerbacks don’t receive a higher-round tender, the powers that be in Ashburn could snipe one of them in a few weeks.  Here are the cornerbacks to focus on.

  • Levi Wallace, Bills
  • J.C. Jackson, Patriots
  • Darious Williams, Rams
  • Charvarius Ward, Chiefs

Fabian Moreau is unlikely to return and his roster spot could be filled by a middle-round rookie.  That’s not to say Moreau is definitely walking in a few weeks, but his playing time dwindled significantly in 2020.  The knock on Moreau was the inability to play on the special teams unit.
