Additional thoughts

Free safety has been a huge need for more than a decade.  Can the Washington Football Team find a coveted starter in free agency?  We believe Anthony Harris will be a target and in a team uniform this fall.  It will be somewhat expensive, but Washington has gone too long without a quality free safety.

It is unlikely that we will see any of the mid-tier players in Burgundy and Gold attire this fall, but one of the lower-tier free safeties is possible.  Chris Banjo or Erik Harris could receive some attention.  Signing two free safeties in the coming weeks seems highly unlikely, but it can’t be ruled out.

Washington may add some free safety depth in the draft, but don’t be surprised if Troy Apke returns for a fourth season with the team.  At the very least, he knows the defense and his special teams acumen could keep him in town.  Apke also has one positive trait that can’t be denied – exceptional speed.
