Other options at WR

If Golladay’s physical condition remains an issue, there are other top tier options available like Allen Robinson, Will Fuller, JuJu Smith Schuster, and the aforementioned Godwin. I would offer big money to either Robinson or Godwin if Golladay falls through.

If the Washington Football Team is looking for a second-tier receiver as well – and they should be – Curtis Samuel’s name has already been bandied about. And with good reason.

Samuel seems like an ideal fit. Not only does he come from Carolina, but he also offers the kind of versatility Scott Turner seems to crave. He can run the ball effectively on gadget plays, and he can line up either in the slot or on the outside. To me, he is not the consistently dynamic playmaker that someone like Golladay or Robinson is, but he would certainly be a welcome addition.

Since Samuel’s name has already been mentioned, I will throw one more second-tier option into the ring. Jacksonville’s Keelan Cole would look good in a Washington uniform. He is an athletic receiver who has decent size, good speed, and, like Samuel, can line up either in the slot or on the outside.

Washington needs major help at receiver, so I would look for at least two new players to be acquired through free agency or the draft.

Were they to add Golladay and Samuel, along with a fully-recovered Harmon to McLaurin and Cam Sims (who would also need to be re-signed,) the receiving corps would move from being a weakness to being a very dangerous weapon. It would cost a lot to bring in a receiver like Golladay, and the Washington Football Team needs to decide if that is how they want to spend a large chunk of their available money. For the record, I would.
