1)     Four Washington Football Team players logged more than 1,000 snaps in 2020: Ronald Darby (1,001), Logan Thomas (1,009), Morgan Moses (1,065), and Iron Man Chase Roullier, who played every offensive snap (1,089).

2)     As I just said, the newest long-term contract man himself, Chase Roullier, played the most offensive snaps.

3)     In maybe the biggest surprise of the year, Ronald Darby played more defensive snaps than anyone other WFTer.

4)     Five offensive players and two defensive players comprise the top seven.

5)     In addition the four who went over 1,000 snaps, the top seven also includes Wes Schweitzer (990), Jon Bostic (965), and the captain, Terry McLaurin (949).

6)     This is where we begin to separate the regular fanatics from the truly obsessive compulsives.

Counting down: Joshua Garnett (10 – over the course of three games, Garnett played one snap on offense and nine on special teams, and then promptly retired from football), Javon Leake (6, all on teams), Tony Brown (4, all on offense against Dallas), David Steinmetz (also 4, also all on offense, also against Dallas – but a different Dallas game), Devaroe Lawrence (3, all on defense, against, you guessed it, Dallas), Saahdiq Charles (2 offensive plays – damn), and Michael Warren (2 teams plays against Seattle).

7)     More than half of the players who logged more than 100 snaps on both offense or defense, and on special teams, are defensive backs – Jimmy Moreland, Fabian Moreau, Deshazor Everett, Kam Curl, Jeremy Reaves, and Troy Apke. The others are Cam Sims, Peyton Barber, Jeremy Sprinkle, Ryan Anderson, and the recently-released Shaun Dion Hamilton.

8)     I still maintain he could be an effective DB, but the relative health of our cornerbacks this year meant that Danny Johnson could play 235 special teams snaps and zero on defense.

9)     This is surprisingly close. Way holds for Hopkins so he’s on the field for all of Hopkins’ field goals and extra points. But he is not on for the kickoffs. Hopkins obviously is not on the field for Way’s punts. So who wins? Hopkins, by a hair. 144 snaps to Way’s 142.

10)  I imagine you guessed Taylor Heinicke, who played all 72 offensive snaps against Tampa after playing just 25 snaps during the season. On defense, recent signee Mychal Kendricks logged 33 snaps after playing just 8 during the season.
