2. Washington holds Tampa Bay to single-digit points in second half

In each of their last two games, the Washington Football Team’s defense has bowed up in the second half. They have allowed a total of zero points against the Panthers and the Eagles.

Yes, you read that right. Zero points. They also allowed just seven points to the Seahawks in Week 15, so they are allowing less than three points per game in the second half in their last three games.

Limiting the Bucs offense won’t necessarily be easy for Washington. Tampa has a lot of weapons and if Mike Evans plays, they will have as many as four top pass-catchers on the field for Brady to target. They also have a solid running game.

But can Washington limit the Tampa Bay offense like that? It’s certainly possible. If Kendall Fuller and Ronald Darby can work to erase two of the receivers, that will limit Brady’s options. And if he’s under duress, as we’re expecting him to be in this one, that could rattle him enough to throw the offense off rhythm.

Jack Del Rio and Ron Rivera have shown a knack for making great second-half coaching adjustments. They will see what Brady’s strong suits are in the first half and will look to take them away in the second. If they can do that, they will have a chance to limit the Buccaneers’ offense on Saturday night.

Single-digit second-half points for the Bucs would go a long way toward helping Washington compete — and potentially, win — this game. It will be hard, but as we’ve seen all year, Washington is a second-half team.

Expect them to at least have a chance to limit the Bucs down the stretch and push for a comeback.
