Defensive Players

EDGE Chase Young

You knew his name would be on the list to receive one of these coveted game balls.  Chase Young was a force on the defensive line once again this week and he is an obvious candidate for Defensive Rookie of the Year honors.

Take notice, NFL.  He will terrorize quarterbacks, running backs, tight ends, and offensive linemen for the next decade or more.

More from Commanders News

It’s safe to say that any opposing offense doesn’t want to see Young at all, but the NFC East has no other choice.  The former Ohio State star is here to stay and he will only get better. After registering a sack, one tackle for a loss, three quarterback hits, and a key fumble recovery for 10 yards, Chase Young is awarded our third game ball.

S Jeremy Reaves

Jeremy Reaves deserves some accolades this week and we are more than happy to do so.  Reaves hasn’t been one of our negatives this season, but he did have rough outings over the last couple of weeks.  To put that behind him and make a solid impact against the Eagles deserves our praise.  His interception early in the fourth quarter was part of a solid defensive effort to preserve a small lead at that time.

Putting Reaves on this awards list may seem like something of a stretch, but he had a couple of important tackles in the second half and a pass deflection when it mattered the most.  For his efforts against the Eagles, Jeremy Reaves is awarded our fourth game ball.
