Washington Football Team vs. Eagles Week 17 preview, score prediction
By Ian Cummings
This is it. Week 17. For all the marbles.
The Washington Football Team is 6-9 after dropping two straight against the Seahawks and Panthers. Despite this, they remain at the top of the NFC East, and with a game lead on the New York Giants and a tiebreaker against the Cowboys, they completely control their destiny.
If Washington wins, they’ll be in. Lose, and they’re out. One week to go 1-0. It’s a lot of pressure of the Washington Football Team, but they’ve been no stranger to pressure in 2020. In a must-win game earlier this year, they beat the undefeated Steelers in prime time. They clobbered the Cowboys on Thanksgiving, earning a much-needed sweep. They manhandled San Francisco en route to a four-game win streak.
There have been times when Washington looked to be out. But Ron Rivera kept his team focused and resilient, and now, they have a chance to enter the postseason, against all odds. It won’t be as easy as it was in Week 1; Jalen Hurts has infused a bit of life into Philadelphia’s offense, and divisional matchups are always tricky. But for once, we can say that, even under imperfect circumstances, Washington inspires confidence.
Can they convert, in their one last high-pressure moment of 2020?
