Five negatives for Washington Football Team vs. Panthers
No. 5
Negative No. 5
The fifth negative for Sunday’s game is not a coach. It is not a player. It is not a referee – even after a few controversies in Sunday’s game. It is not a fan. Or a stadium employee or any workers at the Washington Football Team home in Ashburn. The fifth negative for Sunday is the owner, Dan Snyder.
The entire front office and coaching staff before the 2019 draft didn’t want to pick Dwayne Haskins. Their choice at pick No. 15 was Montez Sweat. Just think, if the immature, meddlesome owner had allowed the front office to do their jobs. Sweat would be the choice, and Washington would still have their second-round draft choices in 2019 and 2020. There would be no dealing with Haskins. That is too costly.
Yes, Snyder has plenty of negatives on his plate with the minority business partners and the ongoing NFL investigation. His antics before the 2019 draft have affected the team all the way to the present. It became another negative for him on Sunday.
Final Thoughts
The Washington Football Team continues to reside all alone in first place in the NFC East division. It’s true that the Washington Football Team is 6-9. It’s also true that they have played like winners in recent weeks and a spot in the playoffs comes down to the season finale. Can the coaches and players finally put together a solid first half and continue those efforts in the second half?
This group of players will always fight for everything they can achieve and now is the time to seize the opportunity in front of them. A Washington victory on Sunday will hand the division title to the team wearing Burgundy and Gold. At this time next week, we will be talking about a division champion or a team that made many good strides in 2020. We prefer to talk about a champion and the many good things about this season.
We’ll return following the Eagles game for five positives or negatives – perhaps five of each. When the season is over, we’ll talk about the positives and negatives for 2020.
