The Washington Football Team keeps winning. The Washington Football Team keeps outperforming expectations. The Washington Football Team is in first place. But are fans being set up for a big fall?

With Alex Smith and Antonio Gibson playing like they did while healthy this last month, this team could be dangerous even deep into the playoffs. Without them, it would be hard to imagine the Washington Football Team managing to win two of their final three games. And without winning two of their final three games, there’s almost zero chance of them making the playoffs. And without making the playoffs, the four-game winning streak they have put together is hard to remain excited about.

While the defense continues to impress and improve, the offense will absolutely hold this team back from doing anything memorable or meaningful if it trots the same cast of characters out there the rest of this season that it did in the second half against San Francisco. Can they get healthy and stay on a roll? Will injuries derail a promising stretch run?
