Roster moves that will open Washington Football Team’s Super Bowl window in 2021.

Super Bowl and the Washington Football Team. Those are two things that haven’t gone together since the late 80s and early 90s.

Now with a much-improved program and winners in four straight games (something that hasn’t been done by Washington since 2016), the Football team is on the right track for success.

In fact, that’s happening so much so that the national media is now getting behind Riverboat Ron and the regime he’s brought in to Ashburn. Most notably, ESPN’s Domonique Foxworth, who stated:

"“I know that the Washington Football Team, their Super Bowl window, it opens next season.”"

That’s a sentiment that hasn’t been associated with Washington for the entire Dan Snyder era. Losing, finding ways to defeat yourself, shooting yourselves in the proverbial foot, Washington has had dark days over the last 20 years.

But, this is a new era. This is a regime that has never been seen before in the nation’s capital. Ron Rivera looks to have turned the ship around and put it on a track towards winning. Something that hasn’t been done consistently since 1999.

The Super Bowl window talks are relevant and reasonable as there has been consistent improvement week to week with the Washington Football Team.

This has been a well-coached team playing above expectations and has completely bought into what Rivera and Co. are selling. The NFC East crown and a home playoff game are in their sights, this is the first step towards building a championship contender for many years down the road.

The second step is building a roster that suits your championship aspirations. While Washington had progressed and developed well with every game, there are still a plethora of things that will hold this team back from reaching their ultimate goal.

The 2020 expectations will not be the same for the 2021 season and beyond. With great improvement comes greater expectations. Three major roster moves must be made if Washington wants to be a serious title contender. These major moves will set up this 2020-decade for success that hasn’t been seen in nearly 30 years.
