Defensive Players

Chase Young

This choice is obvious.  It’s an easy call to make.  Chase Young continues to amaze analysts and fans across the league and Sunday’s game was his best thus far.  He is going to be a star in this league for a long time and Washington Football Team fans will travel along on this great ride.

From a forced fumble to a pass deflection, Young terrorized the 49ers.  His signature play involved scooping up a fumble and returning it 47 yards for a touchdown.  Fans from other teams better get used to seeing Chase Young for a decade or more.  He is their worst nightmare and a dream come true for Washington Football Team fans.  For his efforts on Sunday, Chase Young is awarded the third game ball.

Kamren Curl

Kamren Curl was chosen in the seventh round of the 2020 NFL draft.  The 216th overall selection.  Washington fans let out a collective “Who?” when the choice was made.  “Who” has become “Wow” several months later and Curl continues to prove that he belongs as a starting safety for Washington.

You’ve likely seen this elsewhere, but let’s refresh your memory.  Take a look at Curl’s stats from Sunday.

  • 7 tackles
  • 1 quarterback hit
  • 2 pass deflections
  • 1 pick six for 76 yards

And he will be around for several years on a very inexpensive contract.  Will his level of play continue and allow the Washington Football Team to move Landon Collins to linebacker?  It’s entirely possible.  For his efforts against the 49ers, Kam Curl is awarded the fourth game ball.
