Offensive Players

Dustin Hopkins

Dustin Hopkins had another solid game on Sunday and he could be peaking at the right time.  A 53-yard attempt sailed wide right in the first quarter, but the snap was poor and the blame lies elsewhere.  After that mishap, Hopkins nailed field goals of 51, 31, and 21 yards to help propel Washington to victory.  He was also perfect on two extra point conversions.

If Hopkins can continue his resurgence into the coming weeks, Washington will have another reliable weapon in its offensive arsenal.  For his efforts against the 49ers, Dustin Hopkins is awarded the first game ball.

Cornelius Lucas

Offensive linemen are rarely awarded game balls, but we must make an exception this week.  Cornelius Lucas was solid in the rushing offense and opened up some nice running lanes, especially in the second half.  The former Kansas State Wildcat played 100% of the offensive snaps (63 total) on Sunday and didn’t allow a quarterback sack, pressure, or hurry.

Lucas has been outstanding throughout the 2020 season and he is under contract through 2021.  That gives the Washington Football Team some great flexibility going into the upcoming offseason.  For his efforts against the 49ers, Cornelius Lucas is awarded the second game ball.
