No. 3

Positive No. 3

We can’t put this off any longer and you knew it was going to happen.  The third positive for this week is Kamren Curl.  He had another superb game on Sunday and the story continues to get better each week.  Curl, a strong safety from Arkansas, has been in the starting lineup out of necessity since Week 9.  The seventh-rounder in this year’s draft class is making a case to be the starting strong safety for many years to come.  Take a look at these stats from Sunday.

  • 7 tackles
  • 1 quarterback hit
  • 2 pass deflections
  • 1 interception (returned 76 yards for a touchdown)

That is the kind of production that Washington needs in the secondary and Kam Curl is proving that he is up to the task.

Negative No. 3

Jeremy Sprinkle has all but disappeared from the offense this season and when he is targeted, there are no catches.  Well, he does have one catch for six yards this season.  Sprinkle lined up 15 times on offense against the 49ers and 27 times on special teams duty.  No catches.  No tackles.  If someone is on the field for 42 snap counts, you would expect a few statistics from that player.  We can’t explain it and Sprinkle needs to show some signs of life in the coming weeks.
