Stud No. 6 – Basically the rest of the defense

I’ll take this moment to shout out basically anyone I haven’t gotten to yet on the defensive side of the ball. Montez Sweat was very good once again. Jonathan Allen remained a pressure-generating presence, even as he missed a few snaps due to injury. Jonathan Bostic made a few key plays, as did Kevin Pierre-Louis. James Smith-Williams had a tackle for loss. Ryan Kerrigan had a pass deflection. Et cetera, et cetera.

The Washington Football Team’s defense is blossoming very early in the team’s long-term rebuild, and it’s already a top-ten unit as the 2020 season heads into the final weeks. I won’t say it’s elite yet, because their last four games have all come against offenses with tangible weaknesses. But it’s getting there. And there’s a lot to look forward to in 2021.

dark. Next. Three takeaways from Washington's Week 14 win

Now, we wait for the Washington Football Team’s upcoming Week 15 matchup against the Seattle Seahawks. Can they follow the Giants’ lead and draw a win from the NFC West foe?
