1. Washington is in control of its own destiny

There’s nothing sweeter than being in control of your own destiny. Washington is in that situation now.

With three games left in the season, Washington can make the postseason just by winning out. They have to play the Seahawks next week and then they are going to play against the Panthers and Eagles after that.

A win in all of those games may not be likely, but nonetheless, Washington is in control. That means that they have some margin for error. The Giants are now chasing them. It’s not the other way around.

All Ron Rivera, Scott Turner, and Jack Del Rio need to focus on is what’s in front of them. They just have to plan for their upcoming opponents. There’s no scoreboard watching. All Washington has to focus on is winning. If they can execute, they will make the playoffs.

Washington may not win all three of their remaining games, and they are facing a tough test against a Seattle team with an excellent quarterback, running back, and two top receivers. That will be the next step as the team looks to make the postseason during Ron Rivera’s first season.

Either way though, they are in control. And for the coaching staff and the Washington players, that is massive news and a huge accomplishment.
