Final Thoughts

Here is a list of players who receive an honorable mention this week:

  • S Kamren Curl
  • K Dustin Hopkins
  • LB Cole Holcomb
  • RB J.D. McKissic
  • DL Daron Payne
  • QB Alex Smith
  • EDGE Chase Young
  • S Deshazor Everett
  • RB Peyton Barber
  • CB Jimmy Moreland.

These players made it a total team victory and the defense was spectacular in the second half.

Washington is tied for first place in the NFC East and it is quite the battle.  It could come down to the final week.

However, Washington’s path to the playoffs now includes the possibility of a wild card berth.  The coaches and players obviously prefer to win the division, but talking about a wild card slot simply didn’t exist a couple of weeks ago.  It’s amazing what a three-game winning streak can do for a team down the stretch.

It sure would be nice to continue this duty of awarding game balls week after week, but it is also fun to watch good solid Washington football once again after many years of futility.  And taking down a team that enters the game at 11-0 is pretty special.
