Offensive Game Balls

WR Cam Sims

Where did he come from?  A few weeks ago most of us were talking about how we should move on from Cam Sims and find a reliable third or fourth receiver.  A few weeks later we are talking about giving him an extension and how Sims has become a reliable receiver.

Sims had five receptions for 92 yards against the Steelers, including a long of 31 yards.  That is an average of just over 18 yards a catch.  His final reception, a one-handed beauty late in the game, helped to seal the triumph.

Is Sims becoming a long-term option at wide receiver for Washington?  Time will tell, but we do know that for his efforts against the Steelers, Cam Sims is awarded the first team ball.

TE Logan Thomas

This may sound like a broken record, but where did he come from?  A few weeks ago most of us were talking about how we should move on from Logan Thomas and find a reliable starting tight end.  This humble pie tastes funny and delicious at the same exact time.  Uncanny!

Thomas has become a solid target in the passing offense and he produced a masterpiece against the Steelers. He logged nine receptions for 98 yards (one yard shy of 11 yards a catch), including a 30 yarder that led to the first touchdown.  He also had the game-tying touchdown halfway through the fourth quarter.

Thomas’ 43 receptions on the season thus far is a career-best and it is possible that the former Hokie could reach 60 catches after week 17.  For his solid efforts on Monday, Logan Thomas is awarded the second game ball.
