Studs and duds from the Washington Football Team’s win over the Steelers.

The Pittsburgh Steelers led the Washington Football Team 14-0 with less than a minute left in the first half. It seemed like Washington was en route to a disappointing performance in a loss to an unbeaten Steelers team and it would be back to the drawing board for the team as their NFC East title hopes faded.

Instead, the team pulled off an incredible turnaround. They outscored Pittsburgh 23-3 down the stretch to earn a six-point victory. That ties them atop the NFC East with the New York Giants at 5-7 and marks the team’s biggest win in quite a while.

Beating an 11-0 team on the road is no easy feat. Even with the cracks showing a bit in Pittsburgh, few expected Washington to win. Compete? Sure. But win? That was unexpected in the best way possible.

Ron Rivera has his squad playing excellent football and it’s clear that the groundwork he is doing laying out a culture of accountability is paying off. The team is playing meaningful December football and will have a chance at the playoffs. And Washington fans are certainly happy with that result in what was expected to be a rebuilding year.

Even still, Monday’s win feels like it can’t be topped and the jubilation from that victory will last for a while. Here’s a grounded look at the game with a look at the many studs and a few of the duds and areas of improvement for Washington moving forward.
