As of the time of this writing, the clock reads 8:37 PM on Monday, December 7. The Washington Football Team is 5-7. The Pittsburgh Steelers are 11-1.

How long has it been since the Washington Football Team had a win as big as this? Five years? A decade? Two decades?

It’s a hard question to answer, because for so long, the Washington Football Team has been playing for nothing. Empty campaigns under lame duck head coaches have dominated the twenty-first century. But today, the Washington of the present may have officially separated from the Washington of the past.

The Washington Football Team went into Pittsburgh, went down 14-0, and came back to win 23-17 against a football team that had not yet lost a game in 2020. And in doing so, they taught us a great deal about themselves.
