Score Prediction

Over the last four weeks, the Steelers have crushed the Cincinnati Bengals and the Jacksonville Jaguars by 26 points and 24 points, respectively. They’ve also narrowly edged out the Cowboys, and on Wednesday, they barely beat the Lamar Jackson-less Baltimore Ravens.

On Monday, it’s up to Washington to make a distinction. Which pair of teams do they align more closely with? The bottom-feeders who lost by a combined 50 points? Or the circumstantial playoff contenders who lost by a combined 10 points?

One could argue that Washington stands a better chance than Dallas, after Washington decisively bested the Cowboys on Thanksgiving. But every week is different, and the Washington Football Team has to ensure that its players don’t get comfortable ahead of this matchup. Mike Tomlin is a master of motivation and a master at preparing to throw teams off-balance, and his relentless next-man-up philosophy is a big part of that.

I’ve got Pittsburgh winning this one, as I believe 95% of people will also have. Washington earned some limited respect in its Week 12 drubbing of Dallas, but the Steelers are one of the best teams in the league, even if they’ve shown some flaws as of late. Washington comes out of this one 4-8, and with four games to go, their margin for error continues to decrease.

Score Prediction: WAS 19, PIT 27
