The Washington Football Team managed their least impressive win of the season Sunday. It still counts as a win, but there was likely very little confidence garnered from that victory.

After getting outplayed by the Bengals in the first half, they managed to do enough to get the win after Joe Burrow was knocked out of the game early in the third quarter. Largely, the win was attributable to Randy Bullock missing three kicks in the game and the inefficiency of the Bengals offense with Ryan Finlay under center.

Make no mistake. The Washington defense made a few quality plays. But they weren’t dominant against an offense that has largely been mediocre this season. The defense needs to get more consistent if they want to make a run to the playoffs in the midst of the terrible NFC East.

All four teams in the division have three wins. With three weeks to go, three more wins by any of them will likely secure a playoff berth.

With the short week and a division game in front of them, Washington is facing their most important game of the season on Thanksgiving Day. Win or lose, Washington has done just enough to make this game matter. To be playing a game that matters on Thanksgiving is a massive upgrade from last season, so put that in the win column for Ron Rivera.

Now, let’s take a look at some specific Reality Checks for the Turkey Day Tilt in Dallas.
