The Washington Football Team travels to Dallas this week to take on the Cowboys for the 10th time on Thanksgiving.

The two teams first played the Thursday classic in 1968, and last went at each other just two years ago. If you are a fan of history and trends, this is not a good matchup. The Washington Football Team is 1-9 all-time against their arch rival on turkey day.

Dallas has never failed to score at least 21 points, and has gone over 30 in each of the last three contests. With a few exceptions, the games have been competitive, but Dallas still has won by an average score of about 28-21 over the course of the rivalry.

Considering that Dallas scored just three points in their first meeting with Washington this year, perhaps that low point record will fall in 2020. Or perhaps Dallas will come out flying and get revenge for the 25-3 humiliation they suffered back in October. I’ll leave that to others to predict. For now, I’m just going to take a brief look back at the two most iconic games in this long rivalry.
