Reality checks for the Washington Football Team ahead of Week 11 vs. the Bengals.

After two consecutive losses to bad teams, the Washington Football Team is fast approaching the portion of the season where the only thing left to play for is cultural and personal development. The fact that it took this long is a testament to how bad the NFC East is this season, as much as anything else.

Head coach Ron Rivera has made it past his cancer treatments, and is on his third starting quarterback. The fact that the team is not mathematically eliminated already at this point is fascinating. History will not look back favorably on the 2020 NFC East season, but it still may turn out to be a successful season for the Washington Football Team if that cultural and personal development trends in the right direction.

Rivera has his team playing hard and competing in every game. He has to like that. At some point, though, he’s going to need to see a few wins to feel like he has the organization trending in the right direction. And with the offense clearly outperforming the defense last week, it’s difficult to tell exactly where the development and progress is happening for this team.

This week is one of their best opportunities left in the season to get a win and show some clear strides of improvement. Let’s take a look at this week’s reality checks to see how good their prospects are.
