No. 2 – DB Kendall Fuller

Perhaps no position on the Washington Football Team, besides quarterback, has deteriorated faster than the secondary. Heading into the season, there was modest optimism building around a unit that included the ever-athletic Troy Apke, former All-Pro Landon Collins, upstart cornerbacks Ronald Darby, Jimmy Moreland, and Fabian Moreau, and 40-million dollar man Kendall Fuller.

Fast-forward to today, and the unit is in disarray. Apke has been benched for Deshazor Everett, who himself is banged up. Landon Collins is out for the year, after an up-and-down first half to the season. Moreland and Moreau haven’t made plays on the ball since a standout Week 1 showing, Darby has only been decent, and Kendall Fuller, the glue who was supposed to hold it all together, is coming off his worst game of the 2020 season.

Fuller was supposed to elevate Washington’s secondary, and while we have seen glimpses of that potential with his four interceptions — a figure which once led the league — he’s gone cold, and he’s in a lull. Fuller hasn’t touched the football since Week 6, and in Week 10, it wasn’t due to a lack of targets; it was because he was getting beat. Fuller needs to help re-solidify Washington’s secondary, and that ultimately starts with him.
