Takeaways from the Washington Football Team’s loss to the Lions.

The Washington Football Team had another frustrating loss in Week 10 against the Lions. At first, it looked like the team was going to get blown out badly.

The Lions came out of the gates quickly and built a 21-point lead on Washington. On offense, the team didn’t show a ton but even worse, their defense looked poor.

That lasted until the third quarter when things suddenly clicked for Washington. From there, the comeback began. Washington scored 21 unanswered only to watch the Lions kick a field goal to take a lead. Then, Alex Smith and Co. mounted a game-tying drive  and with just seconds remaining, it looked like the game would go to overtime.

Unfortunately, it was not to be. The Lions mounted a quick strike back and thanks to a critical Washington mistake, they won 30-27.

Washington now sits at 2-7 after this loss and while they are still only 1.5 games out of first place in the NFC East, it’s clear that they aren’t really going to have a shot at the divisional title barring a crazy hot streak. That said, the effort wasn’t all bad and there are some key takeaways from this game. Here are our top three, starting with one of the bigger negatives of the game for Washington.
