RG Brandon Scherff

The battle for No. 1 was very close. Brandon Scherff gets his spot at No. 2 due to less volume and the top player being slightly more consistent. This is no slight to Brandon Scherff, the right side of the line has been very good this year.

In my first ranking, I gave Scherff a C. He had only played in a game and a half up until that point. He had looked like he had regressed and suffered an injury for the third year in a row.

However, since his return from injury he has been the old Brandon Scherff. He is elite in space. He uses his athleticism to get out into space. He gets to the second, and sometimes third level.

And when he gets there he drives through his target. He is elite as a run blocker.

In the passing game, he is not nearly as dominant. But he is still very solid and much improved from the start of the year. He keeps his defender in front of him and has rarely allowed a pressure. When the play ends and you are in front of your man, that is always a good sign.

Brandon Scherff, since returning from injury, has been like the old Brandon Scherff. As of today, I would ink him to a long-term extension.
