Washington Football Team: Grading the offensive line through Week 9
LT Geron Christian
Geron Christian still has a long way to go in being a quality tackle in the NFL. Too often he has a poor base in pass protection. He has gained some upper body strength since his time in the league, but still gets pushed back at the point of attack far too often.
Although he profiles well as an athlete, he gets beat off the edge. It seems as if he is moving in quicksand sometimes. In space, sometimes he does well, but other times like Martin, he seems tentative. Credit to Chris Cooley for pointing this out on his weekly film breakdown on the Kevin Sheehan Show.
Geron Christian is quickly turning into a severe reach for a third-round pick. He is not completely hopeless, but he is no where near starting level yet. At this point, he is best served as a backup swing tackle.
