Another whirlwind week to be a Washington Football Team fan.

Coming out of a bye week, you would expect a typical team to be able to resolve some of the issues that plagued them early in the season, right? Well, as any Washington Football Team fan knows, this is no typical team.

The same issues that have hurt Washington all season continued to plague them in Week 9’s 23-20 loss to the New York Giants. The team started slow, sleep-walking through their first few drives, were gashed on defense in the first half, continued with their issues on third down, and had way too many mental lapses to have a chance to win.

Not only did the team take an L on the field, but Kyle Allen suffered an ankle injury after an unnecessary roughness hit by Jabrill Peppers, and looks to be done for the season.

The hit did not look good, and the injury looked similar to the one Dak Prescott suffered earlier this season. The play took place eerily close to where Alex Smith suffered his major leg injury in 2018. And who else but Alex Smith replaced Allen in the game for Washington.

It took some time for Smith to get things going, but his play for the majority of the game was one of the highlights of an otherwise sloppy performance.

Let’s get to this week’s highs and lows.
