2. Steven Sims leads the team in targets, catches, touchdowns

Color me optimistic that Steven Sims will make an impact for Washington when he returns to action following a toe injury.

Sims hasn’t caught a pass since Week 2 after suffering a toe injury against the Cleveland Browns in Week 3, but he should have a chance to produce against the Giants. There are just a few questions about what he might do in his return to action, as I outlined in a recent piece.

"There will be a few intriguing things to watch about Sims in his return to the team. First will be how Turner opts to use Sims in the offense and what different packages he’ll have available for all of his playmakers. Second will be how healthy he is after missing over a month of action. Third, and most important, will be seeing how Sims clicks with Kyle Allen. Despite Dwayne Haskins‘ struggles, he and Sims had a strong rapport and Sims was able to produce with the Ohio State product at QB. Hypothetically, Allen should find success throwing to Sims, but we won’t know how they click until they’re on the field together."

Allen should look to spark Sims early in this one, as Sims represents his second-best receiving option. Getting him a lot of targets, even if it’s more in the short game, would be wise and Sims could log double-digits depending on how much Washington passes.

By the end of the day, don’t be surprised to see Sims lead the team in targets, catches, and maybe even touchdowns since he is good near the goal-line. Terry McLaurin may rack up more yardage than him, but getting Sims back into the action would probably bode well for Washington. So, expect them to try to do it.
