No. 3 – WR Robert Foster

One thing the Washington Football Team still needs midway through the 2020 season is more playmaking ability across their offensive skill positions. Terry McLaurin, now a captain, is a budding star, and tight end Logan Thomas is starting to become a reliable threat, but aside from those two, consistent options are lacking in the passing game.

New signing Robert Foster, of course, can change that.

Washington signed Foster off of the Packers’ practice squad on October 22, and while he sat out the team’s matchup against the Cowboys, he’s now ready to suit up and contribute. Despite his standing as a former practice squad player, Foster is extremely overlooked as a potential contributor, as he has a history of production in the NFL, when given the opportunity.

As an undrafted rookie with the Buffalo Bills in 2018, the 6-foot-2, 196-pound Foster used his 4.41 speed to carve out a role for himself, logging 27 receptions, 541 yards, and three scores in 13 games. Most of that production came in the season’s final seven games, in which he had three 100-yard outings and an additional 94-yard performance.

Foster was diluted as a weapon for the Bills in 2019, but that was mostly due to a massive influx of weapons, one which included veteran wide receivers John Brown and Cole Beasley, as well as athletic tight end Dawson Knox. Foster fell victim to a numbers game in Buffalo, but he undoubtedly has the athletic talent to be a complimentary threat, at the very least.

With Dontrelle Inman and Cam Sims struggling to provide consistency, look for Foster to get his chance early. It’s a chance he deserves, as he’s shown before that he can take advantage of reps when he gets them.
