Tennessee Titans

The Titans decided to spend quite a bit of money at the rush linebacker position in free agency this offseason. They decided to sign Jadeveon Clowney and Vic Beasley to one-year deals to upgrade their ability to get pressure. So far, the returns haven’t been great.

Neither Clowney nor Beasley has logged a sack to date and though the former has gotten pressure, the latter hasn’t played very well at all. The Titans may want to add one more player to their stop units was only averaging 1.2 sacks per game ahead of Week 8.

Kerrigan could fit in well. He would be able to replace Beasley in the rotation and rotate in as a reliable replacement for either Clowney or Harold Landry when they need a break.

Like the Rams, the Titans run a 3-4 defense and Kerrigan would fit in fine in that unit. Brian Orakpo had success transitioning to the Titans defense when he left Washington so many years ago. Though there are new coaching staffs in place in both locations at this point, the transition should still be smooth for Kerrigan.

The Titans are a contender. They made the AFC Championship Game last year and they have a strong, well-built offense with a strong line, running game, and an efficient passing game. Defensively, they have some good personnel, but upgrading their pass rush could go a long way toward solidifying their stop unit and taking some stress off their secondary.

It’s unclear if the Titans would want to take on another bigger-money contract at the edge rusher spot, but it could be worth it for them if it helps them win what could be a tight divisional battle against the Colts. For that reason, they should at least consider making a run at Kerrigan and it could behoove Washington to call them if they have to move the veteran.
