Washington Football Team: Potential trade suitors for EDGE Ryan Kerrigan
Teams that could trade for Washington Football Team DE Ryan Kerrigan.
News broke on Sunday morning that Washington Football Team edge rusher Ryan Kerrigan had requested a trade. Kerrigan has been with Washington since being a first-round pick in the 2011 NFL Draft, so the news was somewhat surprising to hear, but that was the rumor, nonetheless.
Now, of course, it’s important to note that this is just a rumor and at this point in the season, it’s hard to know which rumors are true and which rumors are smoke.
And as ESPN’s Adam Schefter said, not only is Washington not planning on dealing Kerrigan, but one league source said that Kerrigan hadn’t demanded a trade.
"Another source insisted to ESPN on Sunday that Kerrigan has not requested a trade. Multiple people around the NFL believe that Kerrigan values loyalty to the franchise and his family over money."
Again, these accounts seem to contradict one another. And Kerrigan doesn’t seem likely to be dealt.
That said, nobody knows what actually will happen in the next 24-48 hours. Things change, and it still is possible that Washington will consider trading some of the depth they have on the edge. Here’s a look at the teams that may have an interest in Kerrigan if he does end up on the trading block in the coming days.
