If Dwayne Haskins is traded away from the Washington Football Team, these teams could target him.

Coming into the 2020 NFL season, Dwayne Haskins was the starter for the Washington Football Team. The 2019 first-round pick was expected to get a crack at proving that he is the long-term answer at quarterback for Washington, but things didn’t go as planned.

Just four weeks into the season with Washington sporting a 1-3 record and Haskins playing at a subpar level, Ron Rivera elected to bench his starting quarterback. He turned to former undrafted free-agent Kyle Allen to right the ship given his familiarity with Scott Turner‘s offense.

That change effectively ended Haskins’ opportunity to emerge as the starter in Washington. While Rivera hasn’t publicly ruled Haskins out of eventually winning the job, it’s clear that the new regime doesn’t believe Haskins is going to be a franchise quarterback in Washington.

For that reason, trade rumors have started to swirl around Haskins. It seems like both Haskins and the team would welcome a trade to get Haskins a fresh start and for Washington recoup some of the value of the pick they spent on him. It may not be much given Haskins’ play — likely a mid-round pick at most — but it’s a better alternative than having him sit and rot on the bench.

Ahead of the NFL trade deadline, Haskins will be an intriguing name to watch as he’s one of the only quarterbacks that could conceivably be on the move. And if Washington looks to trade him, they could consider sending him to one of these teams.
