Washington Football Team: Free agents team could target in 2021
5. TE Jacob Hollister
Seattle tight end Jacob Hollister is not a starter by any stretch of the imagination, but he is a good second-string option for double tight end sets and blocking schemes. He is reliable when called to action. His stats will certainly be underwhelming at first glance, but Hollister is the kind of player that you want on the team.
Hollister will catch the occasional pass. He will block for your running backs on sweeps, screens, and off-tackle rushes. He will block downfield on wide receiver screens and short routes. He will play on special teams.
Hollister actually flashed some true talent in 2019 after hauling in 41 receptions, and with the pecking order being very deep in Seattle, the former Wyoming Cowboy could benefit from a change of scenery. The WFT will likely need to draft a true pass-catching tight end in the 2021 draft, but Hollister could still provide some quality depth to a unit that lacks such a player.
Hollister wouldn’t generate a great deal of interest on the open market if the Seahawks let him walk in the upcoming offseason. His contract is certain to be a modest deal – likely around $3 million a season for three years.
