No. 5 – Washington eclipses 400 yards of total offense for second straight week

The Washington Football Team’s offense kicked off the 2020 regular season on a historically inefficient pace. There are plenty of fingers to point when it comes to blame, but the good news is, Washington appears to at least be past that rough stretch.

In Week 6 against the New York Giants, the Washington Football Team eclipsed 400 yards of total offense. Kyle Allen strung together some longer drives, and the unit as a whole was able to legitimately threaten New York’s hold on defense.

In the end, mistakes and turnovers still prevented Washington from achieving maximum efficiency, but it was a step in the right direction. Players showed more proactivity making plays, and for once, they were competitive in the final minutes, even despite the loss.

If you’re betting on whether or not they’ll keep it going this week, I’d bet the over; the Dallas Cowboys defense has been a nightmare through six games — to themselves, not to other teams — and if there was ever a get-right game for Scott Turner, it’s this one, against Mike Nolan’s swiss cheese special.
