Stock Up: DT Daron Payne

I could have chosen anyone on the defensive line. Montez Sweat and Chase Young were their usual dominant selves. Jonathan Allen was rock solid against the run and forced some pressures. Tim Settle was solid. Even Ryan Kerrigan, the veteran, logged a sack. Despite only having one sack, the defensive line played very well against the Giants.

For the “stock up,” however I chose to pick someone who never gets enough credit: Daron Payne. He was flat-out dominant against New York. He was constantly in the backfield against the run. His bullrush when he pass rushed caused issues for Daniel Jones. Like always, Daron Payne was causing havoc. Due to a star-studded defensive line room, he never gets enough credit. Against New York, however, he stood out.

Daron Payne is growing into a dominant run defender with a lot of upside to become a better pass rusher in the future. He is still so young, considering it’s his third year in the league as well. Daron Payne is a problem. Daron Payne’s stock is continuing to rise.
