Positive and Negative No. 4

Positive No. 4

The fourth positive didn’t happen on the playing field on Sunday.  It happened in the stands.  Yes, there were a few fans in the stands and it was good to see this barely noticed occurrence.  Team family members and selected FedEx Field personnel were allowed to attend the game and while the crowd was small, we hope a full stadium can come to fruition in 2021.

It was heartwarming to see the family of Alex Smith cheering his inspirational return.  It was fun watching Chase Young’s mother cheering for No. 99 and the entire team.  The pandemic has affected so many situations in our lives and we hope COVID-19 can pass into the history books in the coming months.

Negative No. 4

This negative comes from the opposing team.  Late in the first half, Kyle Allen was the victim of a vicious helmet-to-helmet hit from Rams safety Jalen Ramsey.  Was it intentional?  It arguably looked as if this hit could’ve been intentional targeting.  At the moment, it is unknown if the league will fine Ramsey, suspend him for one game, or take no action at all.  If the league is serious about working to prevent concussions, it would be wise to sit Ramsey for a game and hand out a hefty fine.
