The “Mr. Consistent” Award

C Chase Roullier

Chase Roullier has constantly been overlooked since he began his time in Washington. Bigger names like Trent Williams, Brandon Scherff and even Morgan Moses have gotten more attention than him. It is for this reason his rather consistent play constantly goes unnoticed.

The former sixth-round pick from Wyoming has been solid since the day he was drafted. You know the player you are going to get from Roullier. And it won’t vary very much from that. He has never been one of the best centers in the league, but he also never has those really bad games.

Roullier stays even throughout most of his games. He is a really solid run blocker. He gets to the second-level pretty consistently and unlike Martin and Christian, drives through his man. Scherff gets the attention for being elite in space, but Roullier is solid at it in his own right.

In pass protection, he isn’t elite or dominant. But again, he is steady and solid. He rarely allows pressures but sometimes can get pushed back at the point of attack. He also commits few penalties. He committed a procedure penalty against Baltimore that was a killer for Washington but he is generally penalty-free.

With Roullier, you will never have top-end play. However, you will also never have extremely poor games from him. He is a rock solid center. He may also be the interior lineman who warrants himself a new contract and not Brandon Scherff.
