No. 4 – Kendall Fuller gets an interception in his first game back

The long-awaited return of former Washington Football Team third-round pick Kendall Fuller became an even longer-awaited return at the start of this season, as Fuller missed the team’s first two contests with a knee injury.

Now, however, Fuller is off the injury report, and back with his squad, and with the secondary back at full strength, it’ll be interesting not only to see how Fuller performs, but where he’s used.

Fuller is a versatile defensive back who can play at both cornerback and safety. He could rotate in and out with Troy Apke, while also taking reps in the slot and on the boundary. Fuller’s ability to move should serve him well against Cleveland, and should help the rest of the secondary play with more freedom.

Ultimately, though, Fuller is the Washington Football Team’s No. 1 cornerback first, and both of Baker Mayfield’s interceptions so far this year have gone to the opposing team’s No. 1 cornerback — first Marlon Humphrey, and then William Jackson III. After missing two games, Fuller may be itching to cash in.
